About Katschberg

Katschberg is a ski resort located in Carinthia. The ski resort is built on 2 mountains that are connected by ski lifts. One of the lesser known ski resorts in Austria this is a hidden gem.

The 2 mountains each have their own character. The Aineck offers longer slopes with more punch and Tschaneck offers shorter runs where you can practice and improve your carving techniques. At the Tschaneck mountain most accommodations have been built for the ski resort itself and will offer you a ski in and ski out experience.

But if you are looking to make lots and lots of km and large tours this resort is not the best for you, but even then it is perfect for a few days.

Strengths and weak points

Plenty of good food to eat on the slopes with nice mountain huts offering all you can need.

Child friendliness is also one plus of this ski resort the ski resort is compact and offers activities and special slopes just for kids.

Weak points:

There is not much off-piste opportunities for you to take in Katschberg due to the many days of sun in this resort.

For snowboarders there are some flats to look out for if you come to the Katschberg resort.

Après-ski is not the main order of business in this ski resort so if that is what you are looking for make sure to research some other ski resorts.
