About Kufstein

Kufstein is a town located in the state of Tyrol on the border with Germany. Kufstein is the second largest town in Tyrol after only Innsbruck. the area around Kufstein has been inhabited for about 30.000 years. human remains were found in the discover cave and they are exhibited in the Kufstein fortress.

Kufstein has been part of a border dispute between Bavaria and Tyrol throughout history.
