About Lake Lunersee

Lake Lunersee is one of the largest lakes in the state Vorarlberg. This high mountain lake is located at a height of 1970m above sea level at the end of the Brandnertal valley. The water in the lakes is used for a hydroelectric powerplant in the form of a pumped storage powerplant that is fed meltwater from the brandner glacier with pipes and is later used to generate energy when needed. The surface area is about 1.55 km2 the max depth is 139 meter depth.

Lake Lunersee is a popular hiking destination during the spring and summer, where hikers can enjoy the amazing views over the lake and mountains.
