Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is a ski resort located at the end of the Ötztal in Tyrol. Starting at almost 2000 meters above sea level up to over 3000 meters above sea level the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski resort is one of the most secure resorts in Austria.

If you visit the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl resort you will find that almost all slopes are located above the tree line and wind can sometimes change the snow conditions very quickly.

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is a resort that is especially loved by advanced skiers/boarders, beginners will have less fun in this resort, a plus point is that it is a relatively quiet ski resort in comparison with its neighbor Sölden.

Strengths:

Advanced skiers: as an advanced and expert skier you will find amazing slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

Quiet: Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is the last ski resort in the Ötztal valley and is one of the more expensive resorts in Austria, this means you will find less people on the slopes.

Flats: you will not find any flats in this resort and as a snowboarder Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is perfect for you.

Snow: due to its location and altitude Obergurgel-Hochgurgl is has a great snow security.

The weak points:

Price: if you are looking for a cheaper holiday this is the wrong resort for you, prices are higher than average in Austria.

Accessibility: because Obergurgl – Hochgurgl is located at the end of the Ötztal valley it isn’t the most accessible ski resorts in Austria.
