About Kals Matrei

Kals Matrei is the largest ski resort in the ost-tirol ( east Tyrol ) region in Austria. ever since 2008 the two resorts Kals and Matrei have been connected by lift creating a ski resort with around 40 km of slopes.

Kals Matrei is a ski resort with mostly slopes for beginners and advanced skiers will not find any real challenges in this ski resort. For a weekend this ski resort is perfect for beginners.

The 2 villages each have their own nice identity and especially Kals is small and authentic.

Strengths and weaknesses:

Strengths:

Beginners: if you are just starting out on your ski/ snowboard journey this ski resort is a perfect start for you with loads of blue runs to get you going.

Quiet: the ski resort is almost never busy and waiting times are nonexistent most of the season.

Weaknesses:

Flats: in the ski resort you will find a few flats that will make especially bad experience for snowboarders, so if you are a snowboarder I will advise you to look up a other ski resort.
